Okamoto Studio x Governors Island

It is our utmost pleasure to announce that Okamoto Studio will be joining Governors Island in hosting its first-ever Winter Ice Sculpture Show!

To kick off the island’s inaugural winter season, we are encouraging NYC-based artists of all backgrounds and disciplines to submit an idea for an ice sculpture, to be completed in a two-hour public event on Saturday, February 26. Once selected, the artist (or artist team) will receive an award of $2,000 to participate, and will be provided tools, production materials, and will be paired with a professional ice carver from Okamoto Studio who will help complete the work on the day of the event.
